We are delighted to have you here! It's time to introduce ourselves - we are Martina Ekzarhova and Nina Manchorova.

We've realized that when two like-minded people meet, who believe they can create balanced and productive work, the most appropriate step is to join forces, and thus nēmm studio was born. We have many more ideas that we hope will also become a reality at some point, but let's not rush things. for now, we will try to fill this space- our blog, with life between designing and visiting sites, with everything that excites us, so that you can get to know us better.

I'm Martina and I've been working in the field of design for almost 10 years. I've gained valuable experience working in different design studios, where I've learned many important lessons. In my first studio, which dealt with both design and furniture production, I learned that creating stunning visual designs is not enough, it's crucial to have a precise understanding of how to bring those designs to life. In my later studio, which primarily focused on architecture, I learned how to handle large-scale projects and develop my own unique aesthetic style without limitations.
I can say that aesthetics and quality of life have always been driving forces for me. When I'm not working, my life centers around the Italian concept of 'la dolce vita'. For me, a fulfilling life is based on aesthetic pleasures - I have an admiration and desire for all types of art. However, nothing brings me as much joy as cooking does. I love cooking for my loved ones. That's why I'm looking forward to projects that include a large kitchen or dining room, where I can unleash my greatest passion.

My name is Nina, and I completed my degree in architecture in England. After almost a decade of working in design and architecture across Europe, I returned to Bulgaria and immersed myself in the local design scene. I consider myself fortunate and lucky to have met martina, who shares my mission and values. Being close to nature is important to me, and I enjoy engaging in water and winter sports, as well as traveling to experience different cultures and broaden my horizons.
My experience in architecture varies greatly in terms of the scale and function of projects. Still, the field that feels closest to my ideology about the role of the modern creator is that of sustainable and ecological design. For years, I've been working on environmental constructions made of wood, with applications for residential projects. I also seek and apply sustainable principles in interior projects, choosing natural materials, locally made products and functionality. I believe that good design is one that achieves a balance with nature.
why nēmm?
The name nēmm with its clean and northern sound is precisely the embodiment of the basic principles that we place in spatial design - functionality, sustainability, and minimalist aesthetics. Our style is greatly influenced by the Scandinavian philosophy of 'hygge', while the danish word 'nemme', means 'the ability to easily learn or create something', which we believe is a good manifestation for a new project.
At the same time, nēmm is a play on letters with the first initials of our names, representing our personal relationship with the studio and each of its future clients.
Our interiors are beauty-led, comfort-oriented, and health-conscious, for a better quality of life. These are the core values that we work and live by at nēmm.

aesthetics.
Clean design is at the forefront - we rely on simple forms, natural materials, and calm colors. We focus on earthy elements and textures that stimulate all the senses - visual perception of space, touch, and even smell (natural wood paneling/finishes are a great example). Our goal is for the interior to convey a feeling of coziness and tranquility. The truth is that space takes on its character only when it becomes inhabitable - for someone, it may be a red candle on the table or a surrealistic painting behind the sofa. That's why we prefer not to overcrowd the space with accents, but to create an atmosphere, giving the initial momentum. Clients are the ones who complete the space by living in it. And that's how it should be.
comfort - everything that is home.

Comfort is lighting a few candles, curling up on your favorite couch with a cup of tea, and listening to soft music. Comfort is in cooking for your loved ones and everything being exactly where you need it, turning cooking into a dance. Comfort is having a corner for your favorite activity - music, games, gatherings with friends, reading. A well-thought-out interior is what can make a space comfortable, by focusing on small details that make daily tasks easier.
We understand that comfort is strictly an individual perception for each person, which is why we rely heavily on getting to know each client and their needs. Don't be surprised if we ask you, for example, when you prefer to take a shower - morning or evening - from this question, we can draw important conclusions about your routine and how everything in your home can serve your daily life. When a person furnishes their new home, they have a blank canvas in front of them, giving them the great opportunity to do everything according to their own way of life, rather than what is usually done. This is a very important lesson for our clients. Through many conversations and 'uncomfortable' questions, we are able to find the most suitable solution for each person, creating comfort in the home.
sustainability - home is forever.
One of our missions is to educate our clients so that they can make informed choices about everything they bring into their homes. Not many people consider that absolutely every material that enters our homes affects the whole family on a daily basis. Starting from the plaster on the walls, the paint, the adhesives used for flooring, furniture, mattresses and blankets, and even laundry detergents, and cosmetics. on average, people spend at least 80% of their day indoors, whether it's at home or at work, making the choice of everything that goes into them extremely important.
Inevitably, every newly produced item has its impact on the environment. Choosing local furniture and home goods manufacturers helps reduce their carbon footprint by minimizing transportation, while also supporting the local manufacturing industry. We also believe in creative solutions such as the use of reclaimed materials - reuse, as well as the restoration of old furniture.
what about the office?

Yes, we will also work on office spaces. Just as in homes, offices, hotels, stores, and all other spaces, the person, their comfort, and health are the most important factors. Our ambition is to apply the principles we've outlined for creating comfort in the home to the realm of public interior design. Of course there the challenges of sustainability and functionality take on new dimensions.
By the way, we also have an office that we chose deliberately and turned into our second home. Bright, comfortable, inspiring, and full of history. We are located on the top floor of a house in old Sofia, at 18 Ivan Vazov Street - come and have a coffee and the best conversation - the one about your dream space.
